Kazakh Ambassador Visits ISCA

Askhat Orazbay, Kazakh Ambassador visited Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy on Saturday, September 15, and talked with the president of ISCA and some of the directors of the research centers.

According to International Office of the Center for Scientific and International Cooperation, at the beginning of the meeting, Najaf Lakzaei, president of ISCA, in addition to welcoming the Kazakh Ambassador, started to introduce the academy and some of the research centers as well as carried-out and upcoming projects of ISCA.

The president of ISCA, in addition to mentioning the performed activities, referred to the important Mawsuats including Mawsuat of Allameh Sharaf al-Din, Mawsuat of Balaghi (nine volumes), Mawsuat of Shahid Awal, Shahid Sani (30 volumes), Mawsuat of Kashif al-Qita (in three sections), Mawsuat of Allameh Helli (10 volumes) and other Mawsuats.

He also referred to Mawsuat of Abunasr Farabi as one of the new projects of ISCA in the recent years, and said the academy has done preliminary works and codicology in this area and even has received a report from Kazakhstan. There are other copies in Iraq and Afghanistan that should be examined, so that they can be prepared as a completed collection and Mawsuat in the future.

Lakzaei added, "the academy invites the Kazakh Ambassador to get familiar with the capacities of ISCA, and if possible, provide the condition for ISCA's cooperation with the research and scientific centers in Kazakhstan on the issue of Farabi; This cooperation can be in the form of partnership or assigning responsibilities to one the parties and can be published in one of the countries or in both of the countries after preparing the related works. The academy is ready to host Kazakh researchers in this field."

Askhat Orazbay, the Kazakh ambassador, also expressed his pleasure, being in Qom for the first time, highlighting the importance of Farabi in Kazakhstan. He said, "The largest university in Kazakhstan is called Farabi and even the most important streets in different cities of the country are named after Farabi. Farabi has a special place in the history and philosophy of Kazakhstan, and currently, the Academy of Sciences in the country has an institute under the title of Oriental Studies, which does a wide range of activities, and it is possible to create links and cooperation between ISCA and the center."  

In the end, he introduced Kazakhstan more and said, "Kazakhstan, with a population of over 17 million, has 70% Muslims and 20% Christians. Currently, Iran-Kazakhstan relation is through air and there are good relations between the two countries. In the time of soviet, there used to be many religious limitations in the country, but now there exists a freedom of religion; and all the facilities are available for Muslims ceremonies, and many mosques have been built in this country. Young people are more interested in Islam and mosques and participate in religious ceremonies.
