Mission 
The most important missions of the department are compiling the thematic dictionaries of Quran, lexicons and specialized dictionaries from Quranic knowledge and teachings and also thematic lexicons from the important interpretations of the Holy Quran, conducting studies, research and research projects in the fields of novel methods and principles of Quranic lexicography, and identifying the existing resources of Quranic lexicons and dictionaries.

Objectives
1. Systematization and organization of Quranic sciences and culture
2. Provision of the context to develop the Quranic research
3. Facilitating the instant access for Quran researchers to the Quranic information and interpretation
4. Provision of the context to promote the Quranic culture in the society 

Duties
1. Compiling the thematic dictionaries of Quran
2. Producing the Quranic lexicons and analytical dictionaries of Quranic terms
3. Providing the specialized dictionaries of Quran
4. Conducting the research projects in the fields of novel methods and principles of Quranic lexicography
