Director of Publications of Iraq’s Sulaimaniyya: We are ready to fully cooperate with ISCA

89022104.jpegQom – Director of Publications of Iraq’s Sulaimaniyya said: “We are ready to fully maintain relation, interact and cooperate with Qom scientific and research centers including Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy (ISCA)”.

In an interview with the international section of ISCA Website, Muhammad Kurdu, who had attended Tehran International Book Fair, said: “Important Sulaimaniyya centers include Kurd Institute that deals with matters related to Kurds, Housing and Life Institute that collects old manuscripts and Dar al-Tarjama Publications that translates foreign works”.

“Sulaimaniyya Publications publishes different kinds of books. It has taken part in Tehran International Book Fair with 300 book titles related to history, politics, religion or culture”, he said.

Referring to the role of Tehran International Book Fair in bringing nations closer to each other, he said: “Holing book fair is very effective in bringing religions, religious sects and nations closer to each other. In the absence of an international book fair, scientific and useful books swap can bring about unity among nations”.

“In an international book fair, some authors introduce their works to others directly- a thing that is very important from a cultural perspective”, he added.

“It is through books that nations get closer to each other. When all countries of the world gather together under a single roof in the form of a 0book fair within a period of ten days, this increases the effectiveness of books in bringing nations closer to each other”, he mentioned.

“Publishers and authors play an effective role in strengthening cultures and scientific interactions through presenting certain themes and making their points of views available to others”, he pointed out.

“The most important point is that we should try to allow all works on any country’s culture and traditions to participate in such fairs. If possible, lesser use must be made of old works”, he noted.

“Squirrel House Institute that specifically deals with youngsters and youths books in Sulaimaniyya can interact with scientific and cultural centers in Iran”, he went on to say.

“There is also an institute in Sulaimaniyya province that exclusively deals with political research works. As a strategic center, it does political works. We are ready to cooperate in this area as well”, he stated.

“If there is a suitable ground, we are ready to interact and cooperate with Qom scientific and research centers including ISCA”, he mentioned.

In his concluding remark, he said: “It is well known that Iran is a close friend of Iraq. We must utilize existing opportunities to solidify scientific and cultural relations between the two countries”.
