Qom – Director of Publications of Iraq’s Sulaimaniyya said: “We
are ready to fully maintain relation, interact and cooperate with Qom scientific
and research centers including Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy
(ISCA)”.
In an
interview with the international section of ISCA Website, Muhammad Kurdu, who
had attended Tehran International Book Fair, said: “Important Sulaimaniyya
centers include Kurd Institute that deals with matters related to Kurds, Housing
and Life Institute that collects old manuscripts and Dar al-Tarjama Publications
that translates foreign works”.
“Sulaimaniyya
Publications publishes different kinds of books. It has taken part in Tehran
International Book Fair with 300 book titles related to history, politics,
religion or culture”, he said.
Referring to
the role of Tehran International Book Fair in bringing nations closer to each
other, he said: “Holing book fair is very effective in bringing religions,
religious sects and nations closer to each other. In the absence of an
international book fair, scientific and useful books swap can bring about unity
among nations”.
“In an
international book fair, some authors introduce their works to others directly-
a thing that is very important from a cultural perspective”, he
added.
“It is
through books that nations get closer to each other. When all countries of the
world gather together under a single roof in the form of a 0book fair within a
period of ten days, this increases the effectiveness of books in bringing
nations closer to each other”, he mentioned.
“Publishers
and authors play an effective role in strengthening cultures and scientific
interactions through presenting certain themes and making their points of views
available to others”, he pointed out.
“The most
important point is that we should try to allow all works on any country’s
culture and traditions to participate in such fairs. If possible, lesser use
must be made of old works”, he noted.
“Squirrel
House Institute that specifically deals with youngsters and youths books in
Sulaimaniyya can interact with scientific and cultural centers in Iran”, he went
on to say.
“There is
also an institute in Sulaimaniyya province that exclusively deals with political
research works. As a strategic center, it does political works. We are ready to
cooperate in this area as well”, he stated.
“If there is
a suitable ground, we are ready to interact and cooperate with Qom scientific
and research centers including ISCA”, he mentioned.
In his
concluding remark, he said: “It is well known that Iran is a close friend of
Iraq. We must utilize existing opportunities to solidify scientific and cultural
relations between the two countries”.
