Qom – Director of the International and Scientific Cooperation Office said that last year 32 prominent personalities from different countries visited Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy (ISCA) through the coordination made by the International and Scientific Cooperation Office.

Referring to the presence of world personalities at Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy, Habib Qahramani said: “These personalities include professor Bardak Oglu, head of Turkey’s religious affair organization and his accompanying board, professor Michael Cook, prominent professor of America’s universities, Dr. Arthur Buehler, a popular American scholar of Islam, professor Yuzo Itagaki, a Japanese politician and scholar, professor Jochen Hippler, a German university professor and journalist, professor Muhammad Ali Naqvi, head of theology college of Aligarh University of India and Prof. Bardakglu, Ilhami Guler and Dr. Muhammad Toprak, professors of Turkey’s universities”.

“A high ranking body from Turkey’s affairs religious organization, a board of Pakistani provincial MPs and sub-continental experts at the supreme leaders’ office also visited ISCA, expressing their views in scholarly meetings and sessions”, he added.

“During the current year too, the International and Scientific Cooperation Office has invited Abd al-Karim Taras Cherninko, translator of Nahj al-Balagha into Russian language and a well-known Russian personality currently living in Czech to give an address at a gathering of researchers and professors of Baqir al-Ulum University. He spoke on the state of Muslims and Shiites as well as scientific cooperation in Russia”, he maintained.

“On May 12, 2010, professor Peter Kampits head of philosophy and sciences college of Vienna University, member of European Science and Art Academy, member of Austria’s counsel of writers and head of Vienna counsel of medical and biological ethics also visited Islamic Sciences and Culture Academy. He spoke at a gathering of ISCA’s researchers and scholars”, he added.

“Last year more than 15 scholarly sessions were held with the presence of prominent personalities from inside and outside Iran through the coordination made by the International and Scientific Cooperation Office”, he pointed out.

According to Qahramani these conferences included the unveiling rituals of the following works: Kitab al-Tahara, part of the important collection of Muntaqid al-manafia, by Mulla Habibullah Sharif Kashani, proreligious, anti-religious and nonreligious secularism, Social and political developments of Japan, An assessment of Muslims state of affairs in the US, Islamophobia in the West, An assessment of Sufism in the US, An assessment of the state of affairs of Muslims and Shiites in Russia, political, social and historical state of affairs of Shiites in India and Comparative religions.

“Grounds have been prepared for signing memorandum of understanding and cooperation with some universities including Aligarh, Hamdard and New Delhi universities”, said director of the International and Scientific Cooperation Office.
